Principal's Message

What an incredible year! With just two days left of the 2022 school year for students at Albany Rise, it is a wonderful time to reflect on the many achievements of our students and school community this year. We are at the end of what has been a highly successful year at Albany Rise. Well done and congratulations to everyone!

I would like to thank all our School Councillors who contribute positively to the governance of the school and support our drive for continuing high standards of education. In particular, to our School Council president Mr Ben Rowe, who is completing his eighth and final year as a parent on School Council and has contributed so much to events, working bees and the strategic direction of the school over many years. I also wish to thank our Parents Association who have organised many terrific school events for students and the community, whilst also raising valuable funds for the school.  To all those who support us, the staff and students wish to thank you for all your contributions throughout this year. Research shows that children who see their parents up and around the school helping out in some way feel more connected to their school and in many circumstances perform better in their studies. With your assistance, our school continues to be an extremely busy and dynamic learning environment.

I’d like to sincerely thank the dedicated and hardworking staff who have contributed to the success of Albany Rise Primary School in 2022. Your professionalism, diligence and the high level of care shown to all of our students are all highly valued.

Staffing update

Albany Rise Primary School has had been very fortunate to have the passion and expertise of some incredible teachers this year. In 2023, Miss Jessica O’Neil will be moving on to a new appointment beyond ARPS. We sincerely thank Jess for her enthusiasm, passion for performing arts, engagement with our community and many hours of extra curricula commitments. We wish her all the best for her future in education.

Mrs Kate Mercer undertook the role of Acting Leading Teacher at ARPS during 2022, working with staff and Department of Education personnel to further enhance our School Wide Positive Behaviour program, as well as providing a strong and dedicated commitment to our students in year 5 and 6. We sincerely thank Kate for her professionalism and input whilst working at ARPS and wish her all the best for 2023 as she moves on from ARPS.

Teachers verses students annual sports event

Every year, our senior students, and any brave staff available, take part in a sporting competition to win the ‘Dom McCaffery Shield’. This year, our competition of choice is Newcombe ball (similar to volley ball). We had hoped to undertake the competition today, however conditions were not favourable..so tomorrow (Friday) the game is on! The game will be played from 1pm. Parents are welcome to come and cheer staff on…

Holiday Security

As always I ask the school community to keep an eye on the school and to report any suspicious behaviour or damage to the police or Education Security on 9589 6266. Summer is unfortunately a time when the school is vulnerable and support from the community will be appreciated.

I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year, may you travel safely and enjoy the break.
