Congratulations Class of 2022

We are pleased to announce our 2022 Dux of school is Lara Corsini. Lara received an ATAR rank of 98.05, placing her in the top 2% of all Australian secondary students!

We are very proud of Lara, and it is very significant that she completed her whole secondary schooling at Wangaratta High School. In fact, all of our highest-performing students did their whole secondary schooling at the High School. Lara has taken full advantage of the excellent teaching and opportunities here, as well as a deep engagement in our music program. Lara is exceptionally motivated to pursue studies and a career in medicine.

Two other Wangaratta High students received an ATAR rank in 90’s. We congratulate Liam Thivillier-Lefebvre who received a ranking of 96, and Stephanie Grant a rank of 92.1. Liam is keen to pursue further studies in engineering. Stephanie is seeking a place in a combined law and arts degree. Stephanie was one of our Head Prefects, and we thank her for her significant service to the school while maintaining a high commitment to her studies and learning.

In total, 47 students successfully completed their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) studies in 2022 – a 98% completion rate. A further 16 students received their Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) certificates.

Our students have once again done our school and our town proud. Year after year, some of the most ambitious and high-performing students in our region are from Wangaratta High School. We are the only public secondary school in our region and are proud to continue nurturing excellence and rich opportunities for all. In addition to these high ATAR rankings are many other personal stories of growth, perseverance and aspiration across all areas of study. We value this perseverance, growth and effort more than the results and are proud of deep commitment to ensure the best learning for all in an authentic context.

FYI The ATAR is a ranking of Year 12 results that measures your overall academic achievement compared with all other final year students in Australia (excluding QLD). The ATAR is not a score out of 100 – it is a rank. The ATAR allows tertiary institutions to compare the overall achievements of all students who have completed Year 12. The highest rank is 99.95.
