Sports Report

With the year ending, I would like to thank all the students who have competed in sports throughout the year. After two years of minimal to no sports at all, 2022 started with a bang with the House Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country, which rolled straight into the Divisional and Regional events. This year we had a number of students compete at the State level for these events. The Year 8 boys basketball team also played at the State Basketball Championships. 

Over the past 4 Terms we have competed in 31 sports, with over 45 competitions, championships and games. I would like to thank the amazing staff at Monivae. Your time, effort and commitment to working with the students at their chosen sports has certainly made my job easier and more enjoyable. A huge thank you to all the fantastic parents who have assisted at sports days as well as training and coaching many of our team sports.

2023 is looking to be another action-packed year for Sport, starting with the 3 big events on Term 1

• House Swimming – Thursday 9th February
• House Athletics – Tuesday 28th February
• House Cross Country – Tuesday 4th April

Division and Regional dates will be in the 2023 calendar, early next year.

More information will be sent out to student and parents early Term 1.

Reminder:

Please check at home for any sports uniforms that have not yet been returned. There are a number of basketball uniforms, athletic singlets, swimming caps etc. that have not been returned. If you could please drop these at the front desk prior to 9th December, it would be much appreciated.
