Later Years

Safe Minds Parent Evening

Thank you to Sally Kershaw from Headspace who presented the Safe Minds Parent Information Evening.  It was fantastic to see so many parents in the Theatre on Wednesday learning how to support the mental health of our young people.

Some parents have requested copies of the resources from Wednesday night. We will make these available on Compass shortly.

Later Years

Its been a busy and successful first semester in the Later Years. Some of the achievements have included: The Year 12 GAT, Year 11 and 10 examinations, the Women in Leadership program, the Later Years Expo, Career Exploration Day, Mock Interviews and Work Experience.

Next term, all students in the Later Years will begin to consider a program for 2019; whether that is at Wantirna College (for Year 10s and 11s) or outside of the college in tertiary studies for our Year 12s.

The Curriculum Information Evening will be held on Tuesday 31st July and more details about this event will be advertised closer to the date.

Year 10 News

Many Year 10 students will be continuing in structured Bootcamp on a Wednesday afternoon throughout Term 3. For those students who have been ‘released’ it is important to remember that this time should be allocated to independent study either at school or at home. In addition, where a college event has been organised it is compulsory for students to attend these events.

The English incursion will take place on Wednesday 25th July during periods 3 and 4. A university and TAFE discovery day excursion has been scheduled for the following Wednesday on 1st of August. Please see Compass for further details.
