Boarding

It has been so nice to welcome everyone back after what I hope was a lovely holiday. We were away on a family holiday for two weeks and it was amazing to return and see how much progress has been made on the extensions to the boarding houses in that time. It’s really starting to take shape and we can’t wait to see the final product.
Our boarding community is lucky to be gaining 13 new boarders this term and already I can tell we have picked up some magnificent young people. I would like to offer the warmest of welcomes to the following new boarders and I know our returning boarders will do all they can to help them settle in quickly and feel at home.
Tom Hindhaugh – Year 7 – Balmoral
Dominic Wong – Year 7 – Hong Kong
Javiera Araneda – Year 10 – Chile
Andy Lin – Year 11 – Guangdong Province
Jacky Ji – Year 11 – Beijing

It hasn’t taken Tom long to settle in, as he was asked to play footy in the Year 7 & 8 Inter-Schools Competition on Wednesday. The team came second overall and Tyler Hateley was awarded the medal for the Best and Fairest for College. Wes Gray was unable to play after breaking his foot in four places in the holidays whilst ‘popping a mono on Dad’s dirt bike’.
It was wonderful to catch up with so many parents at the Parent – Teacher interviews on Monday night and I look forward to seeing you all throughout the term.
A special happy birthday to Jarman Oakley and Lily McCure who both turned 18 during the week.
