Associate Principal, Operations Report

School Photographs
We received the School Photographs taken early last term this week and they have been prepared for distribution to Senior School groups through Mentors. You should see them at home either at the end of this week or early next week. In addition, some groups (House and boarding) are available for order and proof copies and ordering details and information can be found at the front desk at Chaucer Street.
Beijing Students' Visit
We welcomed a group of students from Beijing Foreign Language School (BFLS) to the College at the end of this week as part of their Study tour to Australia. Whilst here, they visited classes, met some of our students, enjoyed a meal at the boarding house and explored the local area.
Dr Hirst and I have visited BFLS several times and we have an arrangement to accept a number of their students who have completed Units 1 and 2 of the VCE in China. We interview the students during our trip to China and Hong Kong in
February/March. The successful students arrive in July and spend eighteen months with us completing the VCE. In some cases, they help to create classes of sufficient size to make them viable and they also add to our students’ global awareness. We welcomed a number of new BFLS students at the start of this term and perhaps some of the visitors late this week will join us in twelve months’ time.
Thank you to the staff and Year 10 students who helped look after them whilst they were here.
