Year 12 News

Year 12 Final Day and Assembly

Last Thursday saw the Year 12 students finish their final classes at Dromana College and run their final assembly. The assembly was an entertainment extravaganza as the Year 12 students ran the school through the decades in song and TV. This included some Carpool Karaoke, Napolean Dynamite, High School Musical and School of Rock. Some of the highlights were Mr. Walsh and his carpool karaoke guitar solo, Summer Rodriguez-Jones as Pedro and anytime Jaidyn Heeren was dancing.

Overall the hours and hours of preparation paid off. In particular, the time put in by the editing extraordinaire, Damien Flatz, and the director/producer Ms. Bastin. It was an extremely fitting farewell for an amazing year level. The Class of 2017 has been an absolute credit to the College.

The following day saw a group of much quieter students head to Le Mans in Dandenong for some Go-Karting and Lasertag. It was terrific to see all of the students and some staff get dressed up in fancy dress for the occasion. Some of the students went to great lengths such as Sam Turner (Willie Wonka complete with his own chocolate bars), Cam Wale and his gangster look as well as Jaidyn Heeren (Ken) and Grace Upton-Jones (Barbie). The effort from the staff to organise and cook the BBQ was also very much appreciated by all.

Overall, it is somewhat sad to say goodbye to this terrific group of young people. It is also exciting, knowing what great futures they have ahead of them. Across VCE they have been a cohesive, hard working and conscientious group of students. We wish all of them the very best with the upcoming exams starting with English on Wednesday November 1st. We know that the vast majority of these students have worked extremely hard and head into the exam period well prepared.

Congratulations to the Class of 2017s time and best wishes in the future.
