Senior SnapChat 2

The Seniors 2016 have been very busy lately. They were involved in their first official dress-up day, where students came to school in a costume that represented the first letter of their name. We had a variety of entertaining ideas, from the Mario Brothers to crabs, angels, gothics and nerds. Check out the great photos attached.

Senior students also paraded their fancy costumes at the Swimming Carnival in front of the huge crowd of supporters from all other year levels in attendance on the day. See the comments below from our students.

2016 swimming carnival was my last year to participate in it. That's why I did all of the events including the novelties. It's a shame that Butterfly wasn't one of the events though. During the day, I'd rather be in the pool than outside because it was blazing hot. I enjoyed it overall and it was great fun.

Finally, many Senior girls, who hold leadership positions or special roles within the College attended a luncheon for International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8th March.

They had this to say;

The International Women's Day luncheon at Wantirna College was a great way for female students and staff to be empowered. There was a variety of people specking each with different life experiences. This gave each female there a chance to learn not only something about the individuals talking but about how each person was inspired and empowered to do their best.  Karen Visser was a guest speaker and her stories of both Lydia and herself inspired every woman in the room.

I think the International Women's Day luncheon was an inspiring experience to be a part of. It was an awesome opportunity to be inspired by older females, or fellow female students at this school who have achieved great things. It made me feel empowered and motivated to try my very best in everything I do, this year and in the future.
