Finlay Marchant 

 Victorian Kung Fu Champion,

revered member of our ADP!

Finlay has been doing Wing Chun Kung Fu now for 4 years. He has been competing in  competitions where he fights all different styles of martial arts, from Karate, Taekwondo to kickboxing. He has been very successful, becoming 3 time State Champion and 3rd in the Nationals.

His most recent competition was a new one, only fighting Kung Fu opponents, which allows take downs by sweeping the leg or throws, as well as kicking and punching. He had some very hard fights but came out the victor adding a 4th State Championship to his record, which speaks volumes to his ongoing commitment at such a young age.

Finlay has not only impressed the martial arts community with his commitment to hard training and his terrific results in completions, but he has also really ‘wowed’ all the coaches and his peers involved in the Athletic Development Program here at Greensborough College.  Finn’s effort and intensity during ADP sessions, along with his willingness to learn and receive feedback has combined beautifully to make him one of our most revered student athletes and an absolute pleasure to coach/teach.

According to Finn and his parents, the personalised training program that he has been doing in our ADP has had a great impact on this competition giving him the strength to take his opponents down.

We are really proud of Finn and feel very excited about his future, in his sport, here at Greensborough College and life beyond. 

He is undoubtably an athlete to watch!
