Congratulations to these students on their outstanding achievements. 

Rhys Du Ross, Year 12

Congratulations to Year 12 student, Rhys Du Ross who represented John Wollaston and was awarded first place in the 1000m School Boys Open Single Scull division of the All Schools Regatta at Champion Lakes on Saturday 10 August. Rhy competed against 21 athletes across 3 heats. Challenging weather in the final race brought strong head winds but Rhys pushed through winning the race 5.12 seconds ahead of the second place rower.

 

Rhys first started rowing in 2015 participating in the John Wollaston Inter-House Rowing Regatta. The following year he began to row competitively and is currently a member of the ANA Rowing Club. During the 2016 season Rhys won the Under 15 School Mens Single Scull and was also part of the John Wollaston mixed Year 10 Coxed Quad Crew which won the State Championship. As this is your final year at John Wollaston we would like to congratulate Rhys on all his rowing achievements and his dedication to representing our School. Congratulations Rhys!

 

 

Mulder Le Vaillant, Year 4

Congratulations to Year 4 student, Mulder Le Vaillant who placed second in the IPSHA Year 3 and 4 Speakers' Challenge. The IPSHA Year 3 & 4 Speakers' Challenge was held at Wesley College on Tuesday 13 August and saw 30 students from various schools competing for a place. Mulder's delivered his speech 'First World Problems' with incredible confidence and humour. Congratulations Mulder on this fantastic achievement!
