Paul Dillon presents Teenagers, Alcohol and other Drugs 2019

Tuesday, 17 September 2019: 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Victoria Morgan Arts Centre (VMAC)

Paul has worked in the area of drug education for the past 25 years. Through his own business, Drug and Alcohol Research Training Australia (DARTA) he has been contracted by agencies and organisations across the country to give regular updates on current drug trends within the community.

Using the most recent data available Paul will examine the use of alcohol and other drugs by school-based young people. The presentation will have a particular focus on the changes in patterns of alcohol use that have occurred in recent years, as well as any particular concerning trends around illicit drug use.

There will be a close examination of the positive influence that parents can have on their child's drinking behaviour, as well as the barriers that they may face during adolescence. The forum aims to empower parents with a positive message and assist families in having open and honest discussions in this complex area.
