Kindergarten Working Bee

Sunday 23rd Feb 9am - 3pm

We are proud of the community spirit that is clear at our kindergarten. Our children, families and staff truly have a shared respect for our learning space and contribute with shared responsibility for making it the best space for our children that we can.

On Sunday 23rd February, we will be having a working bee to help enhance our outdoor space and freshen up some of our existing equipment. Key goals include;

  • Sanding and painting the playground and cubby house
  • Installing garden arches between planter boxes
  • Creating an outdoor café space extending off the cubby house
  • Installing much needed sand pit storage
  • General gardening and maintenance

Many hands make light work and it would be fantastic to see as many families getting involved as possible. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate community values for your children and help be a part of their learning environment!

We appreciate any time that you can give on the day and children are welcome to join in, however their supervision and wellbeing will be the responsibility of their accompanying adult.

BLUE NEWS

Blue Group children have been very busy for our first week of kinder. We have been learning our kindergarten routines, making new friends, meeting our teachers and beginning our class projects.

Last week we began making our Recycling Rose, she is a large box where children can bring in boxes and containers from home to contribute to our crafting station. We started to paint her with some large sponges but this quickly evolved into a sensory experience as the children painted with their feet and hands.

We have also been exploring our identity through self portraits. The children worked closely with an educator, studying themselves in a small mirror. This allowed the children to initiate discussions about themselves and their families as they described themselves and answered the educators questions.

We will continue exploring our identity over the next few weeks.
