Year 5/6 News

Andy Griffiths Presentation

On Wednesday, in the 5/6 collaborative space, all the 5/6s saw the author Andy Griffiths himself on a live Zoom presentation! Schools across Victoria tuned in to see the creator of the Treehouse book series and to ask him questions. He answered schools’ questions and even gave us a sneak peek of his next book! He showed us the people that wrote and illustrated the book with him, and it was fun to see him in real life, not on tv.

Winter Sport

Netball

On Wednesday the 7th of June, three teams of netballers played against many other schools. We had a Girls A team, a Girls B team and a Boys team. We all played the best we could. The boys went on a winning streak, going undefeated and winning all their games by over 10 goals. The Girls A team won 1/3 games and the Girls B won 3/3. Overall, we all had a blast and tried our very best!

Assistant Coach's Report

Last week, on Wednesday, the Year 5/6 students went to play winter sport. They ether played netball, soccer or t-ball. I didn’t play any sports but I was the Assistant Coach for netball! My job was to help Miss Whittington with carrying things, taking lots of photos and scoring for Miss Whittington. I had so much fun helping out and being able to join in!

Soccer

At 9.00 in the morning, the 5/6s that participated in soccer walked out to a bus to get to our soccer pitch. When we got there we had to set up the soccer nets to play our first game at 10.15am. We played 4 games and had lots of fun with our mates and participating in the games.

T-Ball

On Wednesday last week, all the 5/6s went to winter sports.  There were two T-ball teams. The boys team - Alex, Bailey, Mason, Tyler, Ajay, Kabir, Lachlan, Patris and Oliver - scored two wins, smashing one game 20-4 and another game 20-16. The mixed team - Louis, Bella, Logan, Keira, Yousef, Delilah and Noah – lost all their games, the second game by only 1 point, but it’s not about winning because they tried their best.
