Grade 1 Students 

The Grade 1s have been learning about the ‘Olden Days’ as part of our History unit. We have been making comparisons between the past and present, as well as making predictions about what we might find in the future. The students have been presenting short speeches based on an interview they conducted with an older person! We also wrote letters to a local retirement home, asking our friends to tell us about what the olden days were like for them.

As part of Reconciliation Week, the Grade 1s had a look at different ways an Acknowledgement to Country can be written. We read books and discussed what was important to us that we wanted to acknowledge and say thank you for. The Grade 1s then used the different ideas to create their own Acknowledgement to Country – these will be displayed around our school.
