This week in Science

Over the last 2 weeks science has been all about plants.

3/4 classes discovered that seeds can be sprouted in water. They have been sprouting broad beans, climbing beans, dwarf beans and snow peas in zip lock bags hung on the windows. This made it easy to make scientific observations about sprouting and growth.

5/6’s have been learning all about Duckweed and its potential as a sustainable food for the future. Last week classes established the duckweed in greenhouses containing water in the classroom. This week we determined how much the duckweed has grown by comparing photos from each week. We are seeing some great results.
