Brookside’s Annual R U OK? Day Celebrations

To all of our wonderful staff and students, we are now over halfway through Term 3, which means R U OK? Day is getting closer and closer. This year, R U OK? Day lands on Thursday the 14th of September, which also happens to be during the final week of Term 3. R U OK? Day is a national day of action where we encourage each other to have meaningful conversations whenever noticing someone that may need some support.

As our annual Brookside tradition, we will be organising a week of various activities, presentations and events, all with a focus on mental health for our staff and students. On R U OK? Day, students will have the opportunity to participate in a day full of activities and fun and are invited to celebrate by wearing a splash of yellow.

Please stay tuned for more details as we approach the end of Term 3, and we hope you look forward to participating in such an exciting week with the school community!

Anglicare Victoria: Foster Carer Information Session

Anglicare Victoria is our state's largest provider of out-of-home care services for children and young people. Their role is to recruit, train and support families who voluntarily provide foster care.

Due to the increasing demand for placing children in Foster Care, they are hoping to increase the number of foster carers available to ensure that vulnerable children can be placed in a safe and nurturing home.

Please see the attached flyer for details on how to book a free information session around becoming a foster carer.

Edmund Rice Services: On Track - Mountain Biking for Teenagers

The Edmund Rice Community Services recently reached out to our school regarding their mountain biking program called ‘On Track’.

The program aims to provide opportunities for participants to be active, social and work through challenging obstacles. The program runs every Thursday night from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and is aimed towards young people aged between 12 and 19.

Please see the flyer attached for further details and information on how to register and who to contact.

Melton Young Communities: Growing & Thriving Survey

Melton Young Communities is currently running their Growing and Thriving Young Peoples survey which can be accessed through the QR code in the flyer attached.

This survey is targeted towards young people and encourages them to have their say in how Melton is performing. Completion of the survey will also give them an opportunity to enter a draw to potential win prizes too!
