Sydney Canberra in 2022

The Sydney Canberra trip 2022 (for current Year 8 and Year 9 students) is currently being planned.  Keep an eye out for information heading your way!

Communication - Parental Access to school grounds

We ask that parents avoid, as much as possible, having children removed from class during school hours to attend appointments.  Where it is essential or unavoidable, please ensure that your child, their teacher, and the administration are aware ahead of time so that children will be waiting for you in the office when you arrive.

Parents are not able to personally visit classrooms to collect children during the course of the school day.  Students will be sent from their teacher to the office, or office staff will collect students just prior to your arrival.

Please note, it is necessary for you to provide notice in writing ahead of the time to allow us to release your children to anyone other than parents and guardians if you are not collecting your child.

Uniform Purchases via the Front-Desk

Due to limited stock held at the College, parents are asked to please plan ahead and complete uniform orders online, including socks and hats.  Supplies are not limited online.

For emergency situations parents will be able purchase one pair of socks or one hat per child once a term if needed. Thank you, for your consideration.

Receipting via the Front Desk

If you are wanting to pay school fees, make a uniform purchase or buy tickets, please be aware that receipting via the front desk is from 8:30am - 3pm, Monday - Friday.

If you needing to make a payment outside these times, please ring the office on 9754 1144 to make arrangements.

Volunteering

We love having volunteers working at the College. It's this partnership that is pivotal in the success of our academic program.

To help you understand the process, please find to follow the guidelines that we must adhere to as a College.

  • Parents and legal guardians who volunteer in their child’s classroom are exempt from needing a volunteer Working With Children Card (WWCC).
  • Parents and legal guardians who volunteer in another class need to complete a College Volunteer Agreement before they help. These are available from the College office.  This is to comply with Child Protection requirements.
  • All other volunteers or volunteer arrangements need a Working With Children Card.
  • All volunteers need to sign in at Administration.

A few WWCC application forms will be kept in the office. The cost of the card for volunteers is currently $11.

If you have any questions, please talk to your child's teacher, or ask at Administration.  We are here to help you to help us!

Join the Community

For many of the classes at both campuses, (Kindy to Year 10), there is a closed Facebook group for the parents within each year group.  This is an informal space for community to occur - to share information, organise get-togethers, and ask questions.  It's not mandatory, but a means the school provides to enable you to get to know other families in the College.  Visit the Busselton or Dunsborough Facebook page (whichever is relevant for you) and visit the groups tab to link into this resource.

Just follow the process below, and we look forward to welcoming you there.

Cyber Safety Hub

We are very pleased to announce that our school has partnered with Australia’s leading cyber safety experts, ySafe, to provide you with support in managing your children’s safety and time online.

As a part of our partnership with ySafe, we have received our very own Parent Cyber Safety Hub. This Hub is a rich source of live information directly from ySafe’s multidisciplinary team of cyber safety experts. You can access our Cyber Safety Hub using the link: https://cornerstone.cybersafetyhub.com.au

About the Parent Cyber Safety Hub

The Hub includes expert advice on the most pertinent cyber safety issues and frequently asked questions around platforms like TikTok, Fortnite, Instagram, and more. There are app reviews with age and safety recommendations, along with a range of guides and resources to help ensure healthy boundaries around screen-time & gaming, and step-by-step instructions for using parental controls and filtering out inappropriate content.

FREE Device Monitoring Tool for Parents

ySafe has partnered with the parental control experts, Family Zone, to provide our parents with added cyber safety support in the form of Family Zone Insights. Family Zone Insights is a monitoring app that sends parents an alert if their child accesses risky or inappropriate content online. For more information about Family Zone Insights, and for instructions on how you can set up an Insights account, vist the Family Zone Insights page of our Cyber Safety Hub (under Cyber Safety Tech).

We are extremely excited to be able to offer you this level of expertise and support in an area that we know has been very challenging for many parents to manage.

If you have any questions regarding the Hub, please contact our head of Secondary, Mr Will Meyer.

Forms are available at the Administration in Busselton. You just need to let the College sight your Health Care Card, complete the form, and then we will submit the document on your behalf.
