Carnivals & Interschool Sport and House news

Interschool Sport at Koonung

Welcome back to another great year of sport at Koonung. We are very excited to be able to send teams out after a long break in 2020. A few reminders for Interschool Sport:

  1. Check Compass regularly for information about team sign-ups.
  2. Please ensure payment and consent is provided by the due date (at least 3 days prior to the event, otherwise it will result in the student being unable to attend the event)
  3. If students decide to pull out of the event before the day, they MUST let either the teacher coaching the team OR Miss Prosenak know ASAP so that we can find another student as a replacement. If not, the team may not have enough players and be unable to go.

2021 Swimming Carnival

What an amazing turnout we had at our annual House Swimming Carnival last Thursday with almost 950 students in attendance. The beautiful weather enticed students to  participate in both swimming and diving, as well as the novelty events throughout the day. The basketball in the gym was a big hit as was the VCE Volleyball showdown in the novelty pool. Unfortunately, it was not all good news for the students with the teachers taking an easy victory in the relay race. Congratulations to the teachers, winners in the pool as well as the classroom! Students will have an opportunity to avenge this at the Athletics Carnival in Term 2 in the  Year 12 v Staff race.

Thank you to all staff and student helpers for their contributions throughout the day, there is so much work that goes on behind the scenes to organise these events. Congratulations to all age group champions (see below) and STREETON on taking out the title.
