Congratulations Class of 2020

Tuxedos and dresses with ribbon and lace , balloons and festivities, filled up the space
The award ceremony started for the graduating classes, politicians and guests applauded as we raised our glasses.
The cake was cut with a surgeons precision, a wish a dream a decision.
Delicious cupcakes were shared, prepared with such a flair.
The presentations continued with the children we adore 'Wow what did you get that award for?"
Some time for reflection with 'Great' memories to share, then onto the dancefloor, Mr. Silverwood will meet you there.
All Great things must come to an end!
A special time spent with wonderful friends.
To the Graduation Committee who spent so much time on the job, we are grateful and thank you for the 'top notch job".
We have had such a different year but we are so lucky to have had our wonderful family here.
Thank you
On behalf of all the Year 6 teachers and also the other staff, we would like to say thank you to the parents on the Graduation Committee for all the work you put into making last night’s Graduation such a success. The students had such a wonderful night and loved the opportunity to celebrate together.
Thank you for your adaptability, flexibility and willingness to tackle this year’s graduation despite all that 2020 has thrown at us. Everyone was so thrilled that they were able to graduate with a wonderful ceremony and their family present.
Mr. Silverwood's Tunes
To the tune of 500 Miles Mr Silverwood composed a grand tune with every year 6 Student mentioned.

Message to the 2020 Graduates
(Principal Speech)
Let me thank each of you for the great life and leadership you have provided to the Great Ryrie Primary school community this year. You are a talented and compassionate group of young people with a bright future ahead.
Enjoy your celebrations tonight.
Let mum and dad take lots of photos of you – in the future you will look back at your beauty and wide-eyed excitement.
Spend your last days of Primary School in reflection and gratitude to your teachers and the wonderful friends you have made.
You are about to start one of the most exciting times of your life. Exciting because over the next 6-7 years you get to choose more and more of how your life’s going to turn out. You choose more and more of what subjects you’ll study, what sports you’ll pursue, what kind of friends you’ll have. You’ll choose, what you’ll do after you finish school for good this time, and what kind of person you want to be.
And how do you make the most of those choices? Make good smaller choices.
Choose to work hard. Whatever way you put those 2 words together, work hard, or hard work, the message is the same – nothing of value will come without it.
Choose to not give up easily. Resilience will get you everywhere.
JK Rowling was so poor she couldn’t afford a computer or even the cost of photocopying the draft of the Philosopher’s Stone, so she manually typed out each version to send to publishers. It was rejected over 20 times until finally a small London publisher, gave it a second chance, the rest is history.
Choose to listen. You’ll be surprised at how much you learn.
And above all, choose to be kind. Kindness cost nothing – it’s what people remember. Winston Churchill said “You can make a living from what you get, but you’ll make a life from what you give.
So how to finish. Maybe Dr Seuss can help me – Remember this:
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
You’ll look up and down streets.
Look ’em over with care.
About some you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.
”With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights. You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So Great Ryrie Year Sixes get on your way!
I hope you all enjoy your holidays and all the best for next year!!
