2021 School Captains
I congratulate our newly elected School Captains and Vice Captains
School Captains: School Vice Captains
Dumini Jemima
Aadi Hrayhaan
I look forward to working with our new School Captains in 2021. Being selected as a School Captain is a rigorous process - sometimes more rigorous than when we, as adults, apply for a job! The students who applied were required to write a speech as to why they thought they would make a good School Captain and present this to the Year 5 cohort, approximately 120 students and teachers. Selected students were also interviewed by teachers and Principal class. I know that our new School Leaders will make us proud!
Congratulate to the following students for being elected as our new Junior School Council representatives.
Congratulations to :-
Year 3 - Orlando and Emily
Year 4 - Talia and Isaac
Year 5 - Nour and Ilayda
Year 6 - Ava and Thevin
Also, the following School Captains are an integral part of Junior School Council
Aadi, Dumini, Hrayhaan, Jemima.
Hume Scholarship Recipient - Olivia
The Hume Education Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 and is available to selected Year 6 students who live and attend a primary school within Hume City. The grant is designed to support the education of promising and deserving students within Hume.
Olivia received the 2020 Hume City Council Education Scholarship in recognition of her resilience and for displaying the qualities of good citizenship at school. Olivia can be relied upon to demonstrate our school values and is a caring friend. Olivia is only too willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it is working, helping others or being a good friend, Olivia is always enthusiastic.
It is an annual award, presented to one year 6 student from each primary school in Hume City. Students are nominated by their school and receive $1000 towards secondary school expenses. This scholarship celebrates the importance of education and lifelong learning, encouraging students to continue the pursuit of academic excellence and good citizenship as they make their transition into secondary education.
Olivia will have her award presented at the Year 6 Graduation. Congratulations Olivia!
