Staff vs Year 12 Cup

This year our new school leaders have energetically started planning a number of fun activities to reinvigorate student engagement for 2022 and to also celebrate the last year of schooling for our class of 2022. Rochester Secondary’s new House Captains inspired a large amount of house spirit during this year’s swimming carnival, our SRC team have spearheaded lunchtime activities with a focus on ‘healthy minds’ and our school captains and SRC president have inaugurated the ‘Staff vs. Year 12 Cup’.

The competition between teachers and Year 12s began first with an eight person relay at the swimming carnival and while our best student swimmers valiantly pitted themselves against the staff, they were no match for the wily staff team who snatched victory in a thrilling last length. 

Next was a friendly indoor cricket match with innings played over two days. There were certainly a wide range of skills and techniques displayed (the funniest by the staff) and some very suspicious scoring in the second innings (was that the students?) but after the tally sheet was carefully examined by Mr Bubb the second win for the cup was awarded to the teacher team.

Our Year 12s are now turning their attention to downball, MarioKart and chess for our next challenges… 

Who will win the cup for 2022? Can the staff hold their lead, or will our exuberant Year 12s take out the title? Let the battle continue!
