JOSIE SERVELLO

Hello St. Fidelis Family and Friends, we hope you enjoyed the sunny weekend. We have much to inform you on regarding the coming weeks, so please read below for all the need-to-know dates and information.

Upcoming Events

Icy Pole Fridays – Every Friday in Term 1

2nd Hand Uniform Stalls – Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th March

Lunch Order Day – Thursday 10th March

Hot Cross Bun Drive – End of term

Easter Raffle Draw – End of term

Icy Pole Fridays

This Friday, the students will once again be given the opportunity to purchase an icy pole at lunchtime for ONLY $1 – so please remind your children to pack their dollar coin for school this week.

And a reminder that P&F members, along with parent volunteers are regularly required to assist in the organisation and distribution of icy poles to students. If you have some spare time on Fridays, we would really appreciate your help. You can add your name to the volunteer list by calling SANDRA on 0407 867 601, or alternatively you can email her at sbarone69@hotmail.com

Second Hand Uniform Sale

Josie Perri and her team have secured the following TWO dates as the first of our uniform stalls for term 1:

Thursday 3rd March – school pick up time (afternoon) in the Hawthorn St. yard.

Friday 4th Match – school drop off time (morning) in the Hawthorn St. yard.

At each of these stalls you will be given the opportunity to purchase pre-loved, good quality, school uniforms. There is an expectation that you follow covid social distancing rules and bring your own bag and money (cash only event).

* We would also like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE THANK-YOU to all the families who continue to donate their pre-loved school uniforms, it is much appreciated. However, we would also like to make you aware of the condition that we require the school uniforms to be in, for re-sale:

  • Please ensure that the uniforms you are donating are of a clean, school quality standard with no major stains, rips or fading.
  • Please, NO SOCKS or JOCKS!
  • If possible, please ensure they are washed and ready for sale.

We simply request that you forward any uniform that you would comfortably allow your own child to wear. In addition to this, if we end up with too many items that we need to dispose of, it adds to unwanted landfill, which is an environmental concern and furthermore becomes a school COST to remove. We thank-you for your understanding on this matter and we look forward to receiving many more of your preloved school uniforms.

Hot Cross Bun Drive & Easter Raffle

During Term 1, we celebrate the coming of Easter with a ‘Hot Cross Bun Drive’ and ‘Easter Raffle’. Each of these events will run closer to the end of term and details on each event will be communicated to you as they progress. So please keep an eye out for SkoolBag App notifications, flyers and of course our weekly newsletter article for further details.

Bunnings BBQ

Many, many thanks to Tara Soares for organising the Bunnings BBQ on Sunday. Assisted by Melbourne’s gorgeous weekend weather, Tara and her team were able to run another successful fundraising event. As you may know, the Bunnings BBQ is one of our major fundraisers and without the hard work from the parents, staff, and P&F members this event would not be possible. We raised an AMAZING $1711! Of course, this is a much-needed injection of funds for our wonderful school community and will go a long way in reaching the goals Manuela has in place for our school.

Special thanks to the following people for taking the time to support this event by assisting at the BBQ, your help does not go unnoticed: Tara Soares, James Soares, Leanne Wenckowski, Mark Servello, Josie Servello, Anthony Zaita, Ces Piotti, Sarah Auld, Mira Cantiani, Rebecca Archibald, Sue Canatella, Jessica Belante, Andrew Belante, Jasmine Bright, Dale Pattison, Jack Nihill, Jason Xerri and Liz Xerri.

A HUGE thank you to

‘The Village Bakery’ who kindly donated the bread;

‘Bunnings Coburg’ for allowing our school the opportunity to participate in this event (yearly) and to

Jimmy Joson for sourcing and donating the onions.

Also, many thanks to all the St. Fidelis Families and Mrs Watson for visiting the BBQ and adding to the overall positivity on the day!

THANK-YOU for taking the time to stay updated with the P & F NEWS!
