News from 3/4

Narrative Writing

The 3/4's have been working hard on developing "rising action" in their narrative writing.  Strategies they have used include listing ideas on sticky notes and sequencing the events that will lead to an exciting climax.  They have also used the idea of an arch-villain creating a series of mischievous events and the counteraction by the villain.

"Sauron builds armies and legions of little dudes and plays soldiers and wipes out Minas Tirith." - Paddy

"Thanos has big muscles and he crushes people and uses a power to make people invisible." - Hudson

"Bowser pops into his shell and tries to hit people with his spikes.  He throws fireballs and when he is close to you he digs his claws into your skin." - Harry

"Poison Ivy gets flowers and places them where people will smell them then they turn into a flower.  She has planted poison Ivy all over the town and people get tangled in it." Isabella

St Patrick's Day

On Thursday we learned a little more about St Patrick and the traditions around St Patrick's Day.  We did a fun art activity, blending different greens and Irish symbols.
