ST ALOYSIUS CAMPUS

This week the announcement was made by Fr Pritchard that MacKillop Family Services has entered an agreement with St Anthony’s Parish to lease St Aloysius’ school site.  MacKillop Family Services provides Catholic primary education for children who require an alternative to a mainstream school setting.

The staff work with children and young people to ensure that learning is a positive experience that offers not only academic success but also nurtures their social and emotional well-being. They do this by adopting a holistic, trauma-informed model of practice that promotes safety, positive relationships and creates a supportive learning environment. Their education services include specialist schools, outreach and homework programs, and teaching resources. They adopt a more personalised, flexible approach to learning, to support young people to transition back to mainstream.

WORLD TEACHERS DAY - FRIDAY 25 OCTOBER

“If you can read this ….. then thank a teacher!” There are many educators in a child’s life- Parents or Carers are the first educators of children and teachers are second.

Every day, Australian teachers are making a positive difference – creating opportunities for their students, empowering minds of young people and proudly teaching our state's future leaders, innovators and influencers.

World Teachers' Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and thank teachers for the important role they play inside our classrooms and out in the community.

Celebrated in more than 100 countries world-wide, World Teachers' Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1994 to recognise the role of teachers in society.

World Teachers' Day is held internationally on 5 October. As the day usually falls during school holidays, Australia holds its celebrations on the last Friday of October each year.

In 2019, World Teachers' Day will be celebrated on Friday 25 October.   The day is a great opportunity for everyone to recognise and appreciate teachers and the important role they play in shaping the next generation.

Thank you to the wonderful teachers across both campuses who are continuously professional in their work and support the children in their learning.

ART EXHIBITION AND SOIREE NIGHT

The special night has arrived and next week the fantastic work that our children have completed throughout the year will be on display for everyone to see.  The children are excited in showing their work that they have proudly created with the instructions and supervision of Ms Liz Kelly-McAlister.  Please make sure that you purchase you tickets beforehand for ease of access on the night.  The PFA  will cater the night with some nibbles and drinks, so please RSVP to the CareMonkey notification for catering purposes and ticket purchases.  Be prepared to take part in the Auction of the Class Piece Art work which has been proudly created by the whole class.  Looking forward to seeing everyone on the night.

Parents attending the Working Bees will have the levy credited to their school fees account.

OSHC

Thank you to the families that have indicated that they require care for Monday 16 December to 18 December, due to the early end to the term.  If you haven’t emailed me yet but do require the service, please do so by this Friday so that we can cater for your child or children adequately.
