Camp...By Thomas

Two weeks ago the 5/6's went camping to Campaspe Downs. We went for 2 nights and had so much fun. We did lots of fun activities such as absailing, rock climbing, flying fox and much more. One night we even got to watch Aladdin! Two IB learner profile attributes we used at camp were communicators when doing our rock climbing and communicating with our partners. And being open-minded when we adapted to the lifestyle at the camp.

Writing...By Audrey

In writing, the 5/6’s have been focusing on how authors get their ideas. We looked at how problems start and created a chart of how problems build up. We also looked at character attributes when describing a person. Then we got to write our own stories on anything we liked. It has been a lot of fun.

Who We Are - Inquiry...By Ally

During inquiry we have been exploring how motivation drives humans to act and can lead to success. We have learnt about extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation, success and growth mindset.

For our personal inquiry we created SMART goals. We have been working at achieving these goals and reflecting on the process.

We have also been looking at The Golden Rule and being global citizens and Internationally Minded. A learner profile attribute we have shown during inquiry is thinkers because we had to think outside the box.

Maths...By Thomas

In Maths, we have been learning about 3D and 2D shapes and their nets. While doing that we have been learning about their definitions and showing examples of when and how they are used. We are also making our own maths dictionaries which contains everything from addition to shapes.
