R.E. NEWS

First Confession

The date for First Confession is Tuesday 28th March at 4.00pm. Parents please check your Parent Compass Portal for the note, payment and consent for your child.

Family Mass: Years K, 3 & 6

Our first Family Mass is this Sunday 19th February at 9.00am. Please come along to gather as a School and Parish community. The students from Kinder, Years 3 & 6 will be involved in the Mass as readers, the offertory procession and will be serving morning tea after the Mass. Families from Kinder, Years 3 & 6 are asked to bring a plate of food to share. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Ash Wednesday

Next Wednesday 22nd February is Ash Wednesday. All students will be attending Mass, which will include the imposition of Ashes. Mass will be at Mary Help of Christians Church at 10.00am. This means your child will receive the Sign of the Cross on their forehead with ashes (made by last year’s palm leaves).  Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a period of prayer, almsgiving and fasting, leading up to Easter.

We ask that parents notify their child’s class teacher if they do not want their child to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday.
