Pop-Up Play

This week we began our much loved Pop-up Play under our new shade sails. The Year 6 leaders are rostered on each Monday and Thursday to set up play equipment for all students to enjoy.

Respectful Relationships

As part of our learning and teaching we use the Respectful Relationships curriculum to help students grow in their personal, social and emotional wellbeing.

This Term students are learning about Emotional Literacy, where they will explore the different types of emotions we may feel, what the emotion may look and feel like, as well  what could make us feel this way.

During our Wellbeing and Assessment Days, the students discovered a special part of their brain called the amygdala. We read 'Hey Warrior' and learnt how the amygdala has a job to protect us, even when they don't really need protecting.  When our amygdala works too hard it can cause us to feel anxious. The students learnt that they can control their amygdala and help it to relax by deep breathing and positive powerful thoughts such as 'I am ok!' or I've got this!' The students then created their amygdala as a character, including giving it a special name. It was amazing how unique they all were!
