Community and Wellbeing

Remembering Zayden
This past week has been particularly difficult for many in our college community. We understand that Zayden's passing will have a significant impact on many, particularly his family and those close to him. Please know that our thoughts, prayers and support are with you at this time. If you feel your child needs support, please reach out to their TA and they can organise some additional support.
I'd like to acknowledge the work of the Wellbeing Team who have supported many of our students and staff at this time. I feel very fortunate to work within such a dedicated team.
This Friday, many of us will attend the celebration of Zayden's life. Whilst this will be a difficult experience for many it will also provide an opportunity for those present to gather, remember, express their love and support with and for, those grieving Zayd's loss.
We will continue to support all in our community.
Please take the time to read through the advice offered in the 9-12 Community report. There are some great services out there that can help. The accompanying flyer may also be useful.
Go gently everyone.

The Resilience Project
In the coming fortnight, students from Years 3 - 12 will complete a Wellbeing Survey as part of the The Resilience Project. This will be the second survey that the students have completed and will provide us with the ability to see what changes have occurred as a result of this project.
This year there will also be a focus on teacher wellbeing. The College recognises that it is equally important for staff to be well in order to enhance our work with young people. The staff professional learning day at the beginning of Term 3 will focus on staff wellbeing.
TRP Parent Information Session - 21st March
We are delighted to announce that Hugh and the TRP Team will once again host a Parent & Community presentation (with other schools) on Tuesday 21st March from 6.30pm - 7.30pm (60 minutes) AEDT. This is an on-line presentation.
What you can expect.
Through emotionally engaging stories and practical strategies, this session will help parents and carers understand the benefits of letting go of shame, perfection, ego and control. It will combine powerful research with candid storytelling, along with a few laughs to help support what is arguably the toughest job in the world... being a parent or carer!
Why a Parent & Carer presentation?
When building positive mental health in schools, we know the best impact happens when we work together.
The ‘Authentic Connection’ presentation helps do just that by sharing those same evidence-based strategies being taught in the classroom, so they can be also practised at home and beyond. Attendees will also be reminded of the importance of their own wellbeing - we bring the best versions of ourselves to our family and community, when we make time to look after ourselves.
Parents and Carers will need to register for the webinar using the following link:

Upon registration, registrants will receive a link to attend the webinar, along with a reminder the day prior. If you need any further information about The Resilience Project, details can be found on our website: https://theresilienceproject.com.au/about/
