Remembering Zayden Pell

The St Augustine’s College community was deeply saddened by the news of the passing of one of our Year 11 students, Zayden Pell. We share a common sense of sadness and extend our prayerful sympathy and support to Zayden’s family and to all those who knew and loved him. We are especially mindful of Zayden’s sister, Ava who is currently in Year 10 at our College.

On behalf of the College, I have offered Zayden’s family sincere condolences from our College community, with any support or help we are able to give.

Zayden’s funeral will take place at the Kyabram Recreation Reserve today, Friday 24th February, at 10.30am. Zayden will then be laid peacefully to rest at Kyabram Cemetery, followed by a celebration of his life with family and friends.

St Augustine’s PlayGroup

I am delighted to announce that the St Augustine’s PlayGroup initiative began this week. We were excited to welcome 16 families to our community and we look forward to getting to know them and the children over the coming weeks and months.

St Augustine’s PlayGroup is designed to provide a fun and safe environment for children to learn, play and socialise with their peers. Through our play-based program, children will develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills in a nurturing and supportive environment. Our experienced and qualified Early Childhood Teacher, Mrs Holly Swetman is dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for your child. Holly has designed a well-rounded program that includes a range of activities such as arts and crafts, music, reading, outdoor play (weather permitting) and sensory and messy play, all designed to promote teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.

You are most welcome to join us each Wednesday from 9.15 am until 10.30 am. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact Holly Swetman at hollyswetman@sakyabram.vic.edu.au

Foundation Teddy Bears Picnic Stay Back

This week, St Augustine’s College also held our Foundation Teddy Bears Picnic and Stay Back. Our Foundation students participated in a variety of teddy bear activities and stayed back after school. They had a wonderful day.

A special thanks to Mrs Fleming, Mrs Bibby and Mrs Swetman for organising the Teddy Bears Picnic and Stay Back activities.
