STEM Update
After the past few weeks of pulling apart a computer, talking about software and coming up with ideas for our own programs, it was time to make our own.
Foundation students (with help from some of the Grade 1s) learnt about the fundamentals of coding using IF / THEN statements (if I do something (press space bar), then (make my character jump))
Sure, we had a few cats fly around the screen, recorded some funny voices, and somehow I managed to make the game character we made of me explode, but I think we all got the idea.
We used Scratch Jnr. on iPad, it is a free app you can get if you want to explore block coding more at home (for Apple, Android and Amazon devices)
