Parent/carer emails

It has come to our attention that some of our parent/carer emails have not been reaching your inboxes. We are sorry if this has affected you.

We have looked into the issue and can confirm that the emails are being sent and are leaving our server. From this point, unfortunately, we cannot tell if they have arrived to their intended destination.

As part of this checking process, we are making sure email details are correct in our system.

If you are experiencing issues with receiving emails from St Mary's College, please follow these steps:

  • Restart your email application, clearing the browser cache if you’re on a computer or opening this in a fresh browser window/or by closing and reopening the app if you are on a mobile device.
  • People have found this then re-activates the spam folder or sub spam folder and will show all our St Mary’s emails, which you can then mark as safe senders.
  • Please mark all St Mary’s staff you have received an email from as safe senders. It may be best to turn off or refresh the app overnight and re-open it in the morning.

'Kiss and Go' zone

We wish to remind parents and carers of the correct use of our designated 'Kiss and Go' zone as a drop-off and pick-up area on Harrington Street, pictured below.

The Kiss and Go zone allows drivers to quickly and safely pick up and drop off children, on the school side of the road.

In order to create a safe environment while keeping traffic moving, we please ask that parents and carers use this signed area as a short-term stopping zone only.

Please do not use this space as a car park or idle here for an extended period.

If your children are not ready to get straight into your vehicle at pick-up time, you will need to drive round the block and queue to enter the area again.

Drivers must remain in the vehicle while in the Kiss and Go zone so as to not block the flow of traffic.

If your child must cross the road, please ensure they do so safely at the nearby lights.

Please refer to an email from our Director of Junior School, sent on Monday 27 February, which covers this in further detail.

NAPLAN 2023

Each year, Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in NAPLAN - a national assessment program for literacy and numeracy.

This year, students will sit the tests from 15 to 27 March.

NAPLAN allows parents and carers to see how their child is progressing against national standards and over time.

It is just one aspect of a school's assessment and reporting process and can provide teachers with additional information about students' educational progress.

For more information about the national tests, please visit the NAPLAN website or view the FAQ document here.

milangkani goes to Kinder!

We are excited to share that next week's milangkani session will take place in our dynamic Kinder play space.

Designed to encourage exploration and investigation, the outdoor play space is a sensory wonderland incorporating the best elements of child-led sensory play, including a sand pit, slide, water pump and stream, and natural materials.

Curious little explorers and their families will also get a glimpse of what school at SMC looks like in their future.

The session will run from 9.15am-10.45am next Monday 6 March. To book your place, visit the College website here

All children aged from birth to five years are welcome to attend.
