Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are looking forward to another productive week here at Sacred Heart School.

Thank you to all parents who attended the Parent Information Night and PTF AGM last week. A new PTF committee was elected for 2023 with the following people holding the Executive positions:

President: Sam Plevey

Vice President: Aidan Rodstrom

Secretary: Corrina Thomson, shadowed by Kristy Moore.

Treasurer: Megan Guest

We also thank most sincerely the outgoing members of the PTF executive - Kate Gough (President) and Fran Jackson (Treasurer / Canteen Co-ordinator). We thank you for your ongoing support and tireless efforts to ensure the success of our school through the PTF. We appreciate your committment and counsel both as members of the PTF and the School Advisory Council.

The first meeting of the PTF for 2023 will be on Tuesday 28 February at 5:30pm. All are welcome and a Zoom link will be provided. 

The first meeting of the School Advisory Council will be on Tuesday 7 March at 5:30pm. The members of the School Advisory Council for 2023 include: Sam Plevey, Aidan Rodstrom, Corrina Thomson, Megan Guest and Robyn Traynor (Staff Representative).

Good luck to our students who will be participating in the Armidale Diocesan Swimming Carnival this Friday in Gunnedah.

On Tuesday 21 February it will be Shrove Tuesday and we will be having pancakes at school. If your child has a dietary requirement please make contact with their class teacher.

Ash Wednesday is this Wednesday 22 February and we will be joining with the parish in Mass at 12:30pm in the church. During this Mass we will also be inducting our student leaders: School and Sports captains as well as the Student Representative Council. 

Immediately following Mass we will hold a family picnic at the school. A reminder, as it is Ash Wednesday, we abstain from eating meat on this day.

Advertising for our 2023 transition program has commenced. If you know of anyone wishing to enrol their child for 2024 and participate in the transition program this year, please let me know. Program details and enrolment forms are available by contacting Ms Traynor in the Office.

If you know of anyone who is intending to enrol at Sacred Heart either in Kindergarten or any other year group for 2023, please encourage them to contact me at school.
