HC Out and About

Sports Academy visits the MCG

The HC Sports Academy enjoyed an excursion to the Melbourne Cricket Ground this week. Our student-athletes explored the Australian Sports Museum, which boasted a vast array of Australian sporting history and interactive activities. Our day continued to get better as we met a former Olympian, Stephanie Moorhouse. Stephanie spoke of her career and successes, including competing at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens. Students were then able to explore and check out the AFL facilities, as well as taking a walk on the G. A great day had by all!

VCE Drama

Mr. Starr's VCE Drama Class attended a pre-show talk and performance of SLAP. BANG. KISS at the MTC's Lawler Theatre in Southland. SLAP. BANG. KISS. is about three teenagers whose seemingly insignificant actions attract worldwide attention and turn the teenagers into symbols and instigators of social change. The protagonists tell their stories in a fast-moving style of direct address, self-narration and short, sharp scenes where the performers play a range of characters. It was an amazing and moving show!

Top Arts, Designs and Screens

Last term the VCE Studio Arts, Media and Visual Communication classes attended Top Arts 2022 at the NGV. Showcasing the exceptional work of students who have completed VCE Art or Studio Arts in 2021, the exhibition highlights the resilience and creativity of young artists, who have used art and design to explore and understand the world around them.
