Religious Education News
Dear Sacred Heart Community,
On Wednesday, the staff came together for a most productive day. We were lucky enough to have 2 Religious Education Consultants, Pauline Cicutto and Eloise Meyer, join us from MACS to lead us in a discussion and reflection on the Horizons of Hope - which is the document that is used to guide teaching and learning in Catholic schools. We look forward to them returning to work with us during staff meetings throughout 2022.
During our meeting yesterday, I shared with the staff, a prayer and reflection on this painting of Jesus on the cross and what it represents, as we head into Holy Week during the school holidays. Italian painter Caravaggio's (1571-1610) works illustrate how Jesus brings light to even the darkest corners of our lives.
Caravaggio’s paintings are a source of inspiration and express the challenge of Holy Week to let the suffering of Jesus bring light to every corner of our lives. Jesus is often bathed in light – a figure of peace, calm and hope.
May the holidays be a time to rest and recharge and the Easter break bring for you and your family a time filled with peace, calm and hope.
Take Care,
Kate
