Last term, the captains and prefects had the amazing opportunity to go to Halogen Young Leaders Day in Sydney. This event is designed to inspire a generation of young leaders and involves school leaders from all over NSW.
Throughout the day, we heard from some great guest speakers. These included Lachie Smart (the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world at 18 years old), Josh Pyke (ARIA award winning musician and author), Anthony Carroll (also known as ‘Harries’ from Bondi Rescue) and Bronte Campbell (swimming superstar and Olympic gold medalist).
The whole day was so much fun and we learnt a lot about the guest speakers and their messages of being a leader, never giving up and staying positive.
Here were some of our favourite parts:
My favourite part of the National Young Leaders Day was joining in the interactive games and dances. ~ Charles.
My favourite part of the Young Leaders Day was seeing all the inspirational people dance, sing, and talk about their journey and more ~ Archie.
My favourite part about the National Young Leaders Day was seeing Bronte Campbell and listening to her journey to become an Olympic athlete. ~ Stella.
We would like to thank Mrs Long for organising this wonderful experience.
