A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

WELCOME BACK!

It was lovely to welcome our students to a new term last Wednesday and witness their excitement to be back amongst their friends. I hope all our families enjoyed the holidays and were able to spend quality time with loved ones.

Term 2 is always a term with a strong learning focus as class routines are well established and teachers are fully aware of their students’ needs. I look forward to following the learning growth of each student.

ANZAC DAY MARCH

Thank you to the students who represented our school at the Anzac Day March. It is important our future leaders understand the history of our great nation and take time to recognise those who gave so much for our freedom.

OUR SCHOOL PLAY: The Wizard of Oz

Preparations have started for our school play and staff and students are eagerly waiting for rehearsals to commence. Thank you to the students who auditioned for speaking roles in our school production on Monday. There is lots of talent to be shared with our school community!

MOTHER’S DAY

I would like to wish all our mums a relaxing and fun filled day this Sunday. The influence mothers have on our lives cannot be underestimated. Even as adults we remember what our mothers taught us. I would like to share a few sayings my mum repeated often to her nine children!

Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't make it right.

If a job's worth doing it's worth doing well.

If you can't say something nice about someone don't say anything at all.

If I've told you once I've told you a thousand times!

I invite all our families to a special Mass to celebrate our mums, this Friday at 9.30am in St Brigid's Church. This will be Father Kingsley's first mass with the school community. I hope to see you there.

Don’t forget Kate Thompson (thanks Kate, you are amazing!) has once again organised gifts to be purchased by the students this Thursday. Please pay via Compass.

Industrial Action

Chris Smyth, Director of Catholic Schools, has asked all schools to share the following letter about possible industrial action this term. However, please note our school is fully operational tomorrow,  as the  current teachers strike you have heard about in the media is only for State Schools.

PT & F Meeting

I hope you can join our PT & F meeting tomorrow evening at 6.00pm, 4th May via zoom.

Diocesan Cross Country

Good luck to the students selected to represent our school at the Diocesan Cross Country in Barraba this Friday. Have fun, run hard and bring warm clothes! Mrs Rebecca Hofman will be there to support all our students.

Have a wonderful week

Pauline Long
