Big Day In at UQ
Our senior Digital Solutions students had the opportunity to attend the Big Day In at the University of Queensland. The intention of the day was for students to learn about the rich and varied pathways in ICT careers post-schooling. Some of the pathways included user-experience/user interface (UX/UI) design, artificial intelligence and automation, software engineering, game design and various roles with the defence force. Students heard from representatives from Adobe, BHP, TCS and Technology One and met with stallholders during break times to network and ask questions. One of the presenters, Veronica Hunjas (Clayfield College Old Collegian 2015), met with the girls after her presentation and provided some inspiring advice. Overall, it was a successful day with many students coming away with new ideas about career pathways in technology.
Years 7 to 12 Parent Teacher Interviews
The second evening of Secondary Parent Teacher Interviews is on Tuesday 3 May from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Bookings are now closed for this event. A choice of Zoom or in-person sessions are available. If you have booked for an in-person session, teachers will be seated in the Nancy Ashburn Learning Resource Centre (LRC). We encourage your daughter to be present and to participate in each meeting.
Winter Uniform
For your calendar, please note the following important dates for the change to Winter Uniform in Secondary School:
9 May – Optional Winter Uniform change
16 May – All students are required to be in Winter Uniform
Trading hours for the College Shop during term time, excluding public holidays, are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday – 8:00 am to 3:30 pm (closed for lunch 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm).
Pre-Prep to Year 12 Photo Orders
Due by Friday 6 May
Online orders are due by Friday 6 May. Any orders after this date will incur an $18.00 admin processing and handling fee. In Week 1, all students received an order form with their unique ID code and online ordering instructions.

Clayfield College Mother’s Day Stall
It is that time of year again – Mother’s Day is fast approaching! Our Friends of Primary Mother’s Day Stall will be held on Thursday 5 May. This year, we will be holding a Pop-Up stall at lunchtime for Secondary students to come along and purchase some gifts in preparation for Mother’s Day.
We have a huge selection of beautiful gifts available and we are sure the students will find something perfect for their special loved ones.
Gifts are priced at $5, $10 and $15 and all funds raised will go towards the Friends of Primary Group initiatives. Please see the images below displaying some examples of gifts available to purchase.
Harmony Day Assembly (Prep to Year 12)

One of the most anticipated events of the year is the Procession of Nations as part of our Harmony Day Assembly. If you would like your child/ren to participate in the Procession of Nations, please register via the button below.
In the parade, children are to wear their national dress and will be representing their country of origin. Further information regarding this event will be provided next week.
