DEBUTANTE BALL

After a Covid-induced hiatus, the KSC Community Engagement Group were finally able to host the ‘2021’ Debutante Ball on Saturday 30th April, for the students of Years 11 & 12, 2022. It was so exciting to be a part of this resilient group of students’ special night, as they showed their brilliantly choreographed moves on the dancefloor of the beautifully polished surface of the Korumburra Recreation Centre. These Debutantes began their training in 2021 before a lockdown, and resumed their dancing this year, culminating in a memorable night recognising all their hard work.

Their dance coach and the MC for the evening  was Mr Shane Gray, and both he and Heather Power from the Pakenham Dance Studio, helped to make the night one of grace and refinement. Lindy Fox of Fox and Pearl Photography was on hand for the official photos, as were the parent helpers both before and after the ball – a true community event. Debutantes were presented to Acting Principal John Wilson, Senior School Coordinator Melissa Neill and Year 9 Coordinator Angela Burke, with page boys and girls; Myka and Poppy Grabham and Clay Robertson in attendance. 

The KSC Community Engagement Group proudly presented the Debutantes this year for the third time since taking over this auspicious occasion from the Korumburra Lions Club in 2018. Since then, they have taken this event from strength to strength. We are grateful that they are able to offer generations of young people from Korumburra and district, an opportunity to continue with this rich tradition. Particular thanks on the night go to Sam Norrey and Matt Rowe who are dedicated to leading this event and ensuring it runs like clockwork. A beautiful night 😊 We are now looking forward to another set of Debutantes to be presented in November this year. (Fingers crossed we have no more interruptions!)
