Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...

Prep

Last week our Prep Students celebrated their 100th Day of School! We could not be prouder of their hard work, resilience and ongoing enthusiasm towards learning. Take a look at some of the 100 Day fun!

Grade 1

Incursions:

Bollywood Dance Incursion

This week, the Grade 1 students took part in a Bollywood dance incursion. Our wonderful dance teacher Marshie taught the Grade 1 students about the traditional clothing people wear when doing Bollywood dances and she taught the students a number of dances including a dance where a little train goes up a mountain. The students loved moving their bodies, learning new dance moves and learning about the Indian culture. A big thank you to the fabulous Miss Cayleigh for organising the fantastic incursion!

A visit from an Olympic race walker

On Thursday, the Grade 1 students met Jemima Montag, an Olympian walker who went to the 2021 Olympics in Japan and came 6th! They asked her questions about her journey to the Olympics, her training and what food an Olympian eats. The students were so excited to meet Jemima and loved hearing about her Olympic experience.

Grade 2

In Grade 2, we have been learning about the features of 2D and 3D shapes. The students went on a shape scavenger hunt to find 3D objects in their homes. Look at some of the awesome objects they found!

Grade 3/4

Celebrations

As we continue to learn about taking a 'Walk in Someone Else's Shoes', we were lucky enough to meet with Renee and Tameka from Scope to learn more about what it is like to live with a disability and what we can do to be better community members. We even learned how to introduce ourselves using Auslan!

We continued learning about decimals and fractions in Maths and used Pixar Shorts about disability as a writing stimulus for writing recounts. Check out this amazing recount written by Shanaya in Grade 3/4C! We love that her recount had an introduction, adjectives and was sequenced in chronological order.

Grade 5 and 6

Over the last week, students have been working in groups to compete in a reading challenge. The goal is to read the most whilst maintaining high comprehension. Each group has a leader who oversees their progress and supports their team mates. All team members have been supporting their group with motivational comments, check ins and more. Check out some of the comments they've been making on Teams.

Special Achievement:

Congratulations to Roshan who has finished the entire Maths Invaders program! Roshan has worked diligently playing 4 games a week for the last few years to achieve this result. He didn't even need help on the very last level. Go Roshan - we are all so proud of you!
