Year 12's are finalising things here at the College.  It's a very exciting time for them as they prepare for the next phase of their lives and it is also a great time for the staff to reflect on how much the student's have grown in all aspects.  They have matured in themselves, their friendships, how they see things and how they fit in to this great big world called LIFE.

We watch them grow from being in some cases quite timid or at least not putting themselves "out there" in the early stages.  To being quite a well balanced person with a positive outlook on life and some 160 new mates, as they prepare to depart.  It is truly one of the best parts of being a Residential staff member.

Year 12 Leavers

Tonight we have the pleasure of having Sergeant Scott Gillis from the Harvey Police Station, as well as Wayne Byram from the Yarloop Police Station come and speak with our Year 12 students about the upcoming Leavers.  They will talk about how to look after themselves and their mates at an event like this and will be happy to answer any questions.  This was a wonderful gesture on their behalf and I would like to sincerely thank them for their time.

Jono, our Chaplain, will follow the talk with a timely chat about the "Red Frog" team and how they are out and about during Leavers.  How they can help our young folk out, how and where to find them.  Chappo will also be handing out information cards containing very valuable contacts on them to assist in keeping them safe.

Change of Job Role

This week Jodee Sayer was appointed to a permanent position as a School Officer commencing early next term.  This is absolutely fantastic for the College, however it will be a massive loss to our Residential team.

Mrs Sayer has been with us for nearly 7 years, in that time she has been a wonderful, caring, reliable "mum" to many students.  She has been an outstanding Residential staff/team member over her time with us and we will all miss her in residence.  Mrs Sayer will be very difficult to replace in the "Resi" team but the only good thing is she won't be a loss to the College.  Thanks Jodee.

R U OK? Day

Jono (Chaplain), organised the advertising, bandannas, aprons etc for the day.  The kitchen staff baked beautiful cup cakes for morning tea.

At lunchtime, Jono spoke to the students and staff about the reasoning behind R U Ok? Day and how we can all look after each other.  Great job Jono.
