Dear Parents/Carers, Families and College Community

Alternate Pathway

After considerable discussion and canvassing opinions from students, parents and staff, we have established that there is considerable support to replace our current ATAR pathway with an alternate pathway. As such, we have made the decision to proceed and will spend the next couple of months updating our handbooks and planning for delivery.

The proposed alternate pathway is outlined below and would increase time on Farm, plus enable a pathway to university. In 2022, the Year 11’s would have the option of the alternate pathway.  The current Year 11’s in the ATAR stream who are going into Year 12, will finish off their ATAR program.

School Satisfaction Surveys

Over the last week we have surveyed our Year 12 students and Parent/Carers have been invited to provide their views. A survey link was emailed to you on Tuesday.

If you cannot find the email, please contact the College and I will resend it to you via email. I very much value the opinion from our families and your view as parents and carers of a Year 12 student is especially important,  as most of you have been with us for three years. I will close the survey next Monday and collate the parent and the student results.

Hockey

Congratulations to those hockey players who reached the grand final this week. The game was nil all until the last few seconds of the final quarter,  when the opposition scored a short corner. After four short corners, they managed to sneak a goal in to win the game.

Well done Payton Marley as the highest goal scorer for the season and runner up Fairest and Best.  Congratulations to Sam Ferrari for winning the Fairest and Best. Congratulations to all players whose involvement in the Harvey or Collie teams as this meant there could be a strong hockey season in Collie.

Country Week survey

As you are aware, we were recently asked to complete a survey about Country Week and feed our information into the system.  94% of schools indicated cancelling Country Week for 2021 was the best option for all their students and most of the parents agreed.

It was recognised that Term 4 is already busy and it would have caused disruptions to teaching and learning. Schools would have needed to reorganise travel and accommodation (if available), relief teachers and sports teams. Some schools would not have been able to participate without their Year 12 students.
