Senior School Report

Jess Hollands

On Wednesday the 31st  Woodmans Hill welcomed Year 11 and 12 students and families to a return to school PTSC for an introduction to students 2024 Home Group teachers and a check in to see how students are feeling following the Summer holidays and about returning to school. We thank those students and families that attended. Similarly, on Wednesday the 31st, Year 10 Home Group teachers reached out to families via phone to touch base regarding Year 10 students returning to school on Friday the 2nd and provide an introduction as well as answer any questions that parents may have.

Thursday the 1st saw Year 11 and 12 students return to school, with Year 10 students returning the following day. We were extremely excited, as were students to be back at school and this was evident through much story-telling and multiple catch ups between staff and students about holidays and plans for the coming year.

The Senior School team has once again expanded and evolved this year to further support our students with the later years of education. The team is excited to continue working with the senior students and welcomes our newly transitioned Year 10 students to be part of the Senior School.

As a Senior School we were incredibly proud to see our students settling into their Year 10, VCE and VM classes with a high level of focus and commitment. Upon walking around the classes students were settled and productive focused on their individual success. However, we recognise that returning to school and adjusting back to routines can be challenging. The Senior School would like to remind students some key expectations we have at Woodmans Hill.

  • Students are expected to be in full-school uniform every day.
  • If a student is out of uniform, they’re expected to bring a signed note from a parent/ guardian and present it at the Senior School office before school so they can be provided a uniform pass.
  • P.E uniform is only to be worn during P.E classes. Students are expected to change into their uniform for P.E classes only and back into full, academic school uniform at the end of class.

If you have any concerns purchasing uniform, please reach out to your Home Group teachers who can direct you to the right supports securing correct uniform.

As a school, we are focusing on arriving to class on time and prepared to learn. This means students must begin moving to their lockers to gather the correct equipment for class, as soon as the 5 minute warning music begins to play.

Over the coming weeks and months the Senior School looks forward to continuing to build relationships with students so we can best support and challenging their learning, wellbeing and pathways development.

Keep an eye out for more exciting upcoming updates from the Senior School!
