Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

It is hard to believe we are nearly two weeks into our third term. Staff are now following up the half yearly reports and interviews in providing the best curriculum they can for each of your children.

Tomorrow our Marine Ambassadors are out on one of their field trips, our local Winter sport program commences against Aldercourt PS and musician Drew Lane is here to work with all classes. As you would be aware parents are invited to hear the end of day performance in the hall at 2.30pm.

We are commencing our Eucharistic Masses over the next few weekends as well as an Enrolment Mass for Confirmation and also an opportunity for Mass attendance leading into Reconciliation. I am sure with so many Sacraments occuring, or being prepared for, we will have a very busy Church. As a core part of why we have Catholic schools I am sure this is an exciting time for students and families. Please keep Jacob G, Harry S, Sebastian M, Macey W, Amelia C, James H and Paige W in your prayers as they prepare for their First Eucharist. Next Thursday 27th July the students and their families preparing to receive their Confirmation will have their Preparation Evening in the Church.

Sometimes students will have problems with each other in the school yard. This is a natural part of socialisation as they grow to become the adults we all want them to be. Please be reminded that if your child is having an issue with another child in the yard please contact the staff about this rather than it becoming an issue between two parents.

Next week is a big week with our four yearly review in full swing on Monday and Tuesday when our reviewer Dr Judi Gurvich is on site meeting with staff, students, Fr Martin and some parents to discuss their perceptions of our school as a whole. It all contributes to our next four years of development to our wonderful school. On Friday 28th July we will remember Jesus' Grandparents Anne and Joachim, who our schools in the Parish are named after, with our Feast Day and Grandparents Day. Mrs Winduss has been keeping everyone informed about the finer details of this. Also on Friday 28th our senior students will travel to Kananook PS to play sport against them.

Tomorrow we bid farewell to Miss O'Donnell for the next three weeks as she joins MAC's sponsored trip to Italy and Portugal as a Young Leader in Catholic Education to join the festivities around World Youth Day. We look forward to her sharing updates about the trip and thank Mr Suzanne Ribet who will be teaching 5/ 6 O in her absence.

God Bless

Rod Shaw
