From the Principal 

I hope you are settling into the Term well. We continue to have plenty of events and activities for our students to be involved in or to support. 

We have just been rocked by the 2023 School Production of "We Will Rock You" in our fabulous Performing Arts Centre. A huge thanks to our dedicated production team and amazing students that completed eight professional events. Thanks to our families that ensured every performance was fully booked and enjoyed by so many. 

Our Year 8s have returned from The Summit Camp where they enjoyed a very high-challenge series of activities with each other. It is our first year at this new venue and we will be seeking feedback on the experience. We have great photos alongside an article in this edition highlighting some of the activities that they were able to engage in, including a commando style course that required them getting quite muddy! It was great to see the students (and staff) participating so enthusiastically and challenging themselves. 

Our students continue to excel at many sports, please see the article in this issue about some of their Winter Sports accomplishments. Our Volleyball teams have just participated in the Victorian Schools Volleyball cup last week and also had success. 

This week, our Year 12s are attending their School Formal that they have been organising for the past few months. I look forward to sharing the evening with them as they celebrate their final year and take time to enjoy each other’s company before knuckling down for end of year exam preparation. 

Our Friends of Northcote Committee is currently working on our upcoming Comedy Night, please see the ‘save the date’ in this newsletter.
