Seek Justice

Detention For Detention
This week we joined with the Catholic Alliance for People Seeking Asylum (CAPSA) to express our support and solidarity for refugees and people seeking asylum.
Staff and Students participated in a ‘detention for detention’ lunchtime solidarity action stating that
- We believe people seeking asylum should be treated compassionately and humanely, as we would want to be treated.
- We believe in a fast, efficient and fair process that enables people to rebuild their lives and thrive in the community.
Our photos and many others from Catholic schools, parishes and workplaces will be used by CAPSA to explain to our Federal government that as a Catholic community we believe that we can do better as a nation in the treatment of people seeking refuge in our country.
We Can Do Better. Evacuate The Camps. Bring Them Here. Refugees Are Welcome.
Pilgrimage Fundraising
We are delighted to announce that we have 41 students and 12 staff members who will be participating in the John XXlll College Pilgrimage program in September this year.
One of the main aims of the program is to help our students to ‘become men and women for others’, gain a greater understanding of local and global justice issues and develop a deeper awareness of the work of the Loreto and Jesuit orders.
Wise winery will donate 20% of sales proceeds to the Pilgrimage Program. You can help support the Pilgrimage Program by either buying some wine yourself or sending the link to family, friends and work colleagues so they can also support. Funds raised will help finance programs that empower cultural understanding, health, income generation, education and building projects in India, Cambodia, Timor Leste and Beswick in the Northern Territory.
