2018 Freo Dockers School Girls Claremont Division Cup
Wednesday 31 October saw a record 15 teams from nine schools in the Claremont and Subiaco Football districts play off for the Freo Dockers School Girls Cup.
John XXIII College fielded two strong teams from Years 7-9. The competition this year was not only extremely competitive with numbers but also ability as the standard of Women’s AFL Football keeps improving.
Iona Presentation College were the eventual victors on the day. Congratulations to all our John XXIII College Girls in demonstrating a positive work ethic and spirit throughout the day.

ACC Representative Cricket Team
Player nominations are now open for the ACC Representative Cricket Team for the match against the Combined Government Schools on the 15 March 2019 at the WACA ground. Net selection trials will be held in mid-late November 2018 (dates/venues TBC) and a final selection trial match will be held on Friday 8 March 2019 at Murdoch University Ground.
The representative match against the Combined Government Schools team is scheduled to be played at the WACA in 2019. This is an unbelievable cricket opportunity and all schools are encouraged to nominate quality players for this highly regarded match. All players selected receive an ACC “baggy yellow” cricket cap from the association.
The ACC is now calling for nominations from interested and talented players. On-line nominations are due to the ACC by Monday 5 November 2018.
The process for nominations is as follows:
- Students complete their nomination form on-line on the ACC website: http://www.accsport.asn.au/interschool-sport/representative-teams/cricket/nomination-form-players
- ACC will auto reply to each individual student when the nomination on-line has been received.
- Please note all fees for trials will be covered by John XXIII College
Positions for players are open to all cricket players that will be enrolled at the school in 2018; players MUST be of representative quality. There is no age restriction, but being an “open” age team, selected players are usually in Years 10, 11 or 12 and must be capable of playing at U18 level.
Information about net selection trials in November 2018 will be provided to players and schools ASAP once nominations are finalised. Players that were selected in the final team earlier this year or who are national or state representatives do not have to attend the net trial as they will be automatically passed through to the trial match in March next year.
