YEAR 8 STRINGS & BAND: YEAR 7 INFORMATION NIGHT

Congratulations to both the Year 8 Strings and the Year 8 Band for their first performance for 2018 at the Year 7 Information Night. The standard of playing demonstrated a commitment to continual improvement. Well done!

SENIOR STAGE BAND: GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Congratulations to the Senior Stage Band and William Hardy for their performance at the General Assembly on 20 March. Thanks to the band who provided a fantastic opening at the Assembly and to Mr Dmitry Serebrianik for his ongoing development of this group over this term.

HOUSE MUSIC FESTIVAL: 28 MARCH

Another reminder that the House Music Festival will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 28 March in the School Hall. This has been the major focus of the students throughout this term, with rehearsals taking place before school, afterschool and during lunchtime every day since the beginning of February. Come along and support the students and listen to their amazing work!

SYMPHONIC WIND BAND TOUR

We wish the Symphonic Wind Touring Band great success as they travel to Europe, leaving on Tuesday 10 April. The standard of musicianship is quite high and we look forward to hearing of the great success you have overseas. Thank you to Ms Su Rogerson and Mr Martin West for their ongoing development and organisation of the group and tour.

REMINDER – KEEP PRACTISING

A reminder that students should take their instruments home with them by the end of term so they can practice their technique over the two week break. The Music Centre will be open until 4pm to assist with pick up of instruments.

Instrument lessons and hire can be paid through Compass.

UBUNTU CONCERT

We have the privilege of hosting a fantastic young vocal group from South Africa. After working with the singers of the region during the day at Singfest, they will perform a concert to help “Make that Change” in the McKinnon Secondary College Theatre on Thursday 19 April at 7pm.
