3/4 Communities

Topaz

Topaz community was fortunate enough to be a part of the National Tree Day celebrations which were on the 27th of July. All Topaz students went out to federation trail to help plant some trees to make an environmental corridor and encourage wild life into the area. The students were shown how to plant the trees and told information like, how tall the tress would grow and the type. This was a great experience for all our students!

Emerald

In week 3, Emerald Community participated in the Grade 3 – 6 Athletics Carnival, showcasing their athletic abilities in events such as the 100m, hurdles and long jump. All of the students did a wonderful job and cheered on their peers in the various track and field events. Some of our students even managed to get a ribbon on the day for placing in the top four of their event. Well done to all of our Emerald students!

Amethyst

DRSABC – Do you know what it stands for? Our wonderful students in Amethyst do! “Danger”, “Response”,  “Send for help”, “Airways”, “Breathing”, “Circulation”. Students eagerly participated in the St John Ambulance First Aid Training during Week 4 and developed skills in assisting people who may be unconscious. They learnt how to treat minor injuries such as burns and bleeds. Students also role played calling Triple 000. I encourage you to talk with your child and ensure they know their address and phone numbers, in case of an emergency.

Our students were one of 10 000 across Victoria to participate in First Aid Training. They will participate again when in 5/6, where they will learn how to give CPR.
