VCE & VCAL Student Progress interviews – Tuesday 23 July

Term 3 Student Progress interviews for VCE & VCAL students will take place from 2.15 – 6.30 pm on Tuesday 23 July.  These are critical to the final stages of Year 12 & Year 11 studies. Details about booking through PAM will be emailed to parents during the first week of Term 3.

VET and Applied Learning Information evening – Tuesday 23 July

  • Did you know that VET courses range from Engineering to Music, Allied Health to Dance, Hospitality, Information Technology, Hairy & Beauty, Business Administration, Sports & Recreation …and almost anything you can imagine?
  • And that any of these courses can be part of either a VCE or a VCAL pathway?

Nazareth College’s co-ownership of the DREAM Centre at Chisholm and our own Joseph Centre for Applied Learning and the continuing growth of students undertaking VET courses within both VCE and Applied Learning (VCAL & LEAP) courses highlight the important pathways into senior years for students more interested in and more suited to applied learning.

To find out more details about VET within either a VCE or Applied Learning course or whether the LEAP or VCAL pathway might be more suitable for your son or daughter, we are holding an information session in The Joseph Centre on Tuesday 23 July at 6.45pm. The timing provides a great chance to explore this option following on from the VCE & VCAL Student Progress evening and prior to the opening of the subject selection period. This evening is for parents and guardians of students currently in Years 9, 10 or 11.

Semester 1 reports

The Semester 1 summary reports are now available for parents and guardians via PAMAccess to more detailed feedback on your child’s progress through the continuous reporting is accessible via the Learning Areas section of PAM that details their achievement on every assessment task (within two weeks of completion).  In conjunction with the continuous reporting feedback, the summary reports provide an ideal source of parent-student conversation on student achievement and areas for improvement, particularly in subjects where achievement is below the Promotions Policy requirement of a 60% average.

The releases of the Semester Reports provides an excellent starting point for identifying areas of strength to pursue in future years, ahead of the 2020 Subject Selection period that launches early in Term 3 with the Applied Learning Information Evening on 23 July followed by the Careers Expo & Subject Selection evening on 31 July. Subject Selection Course Guides will be available to parents via PAM Knowledge Banks and to students via SIMON in the first week of Term 3.

We ask all parents to please check PAM regularly and to please ensure that email addresses are kept up-to-date to ensure smooth communication between the College and home.
