Principal's Report

 Principal’s Report 6th April

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved holiday. I have had the pleasure of being the Acting principal here for 5 weeks. In those 5 weeks, I have been so impressed with the fabulous learning that is happening in all classrooms and have noticed the obvious enjoyment of learning that our students experience when I have visited classrooms. It has been lovely to meet students that I remember from over 3 years ago and see that they have grown into wonderful middle and senior school students who are great role models to their younger peers.

SWIMMING

Our Prep to grade 4 students had a great time participating in the swimming program. This is such an important program for our students to attend to ensure they are developing their swimming skills and abilities. Thank you to the PE teachers for all the organization required to make this possible for our students.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN is finished for the year, and we look forward to having the results earlier than in the past so we can use them to add to our assessment and planning practices.

HARMONY DAY

I was always impressed with the way we celebrated Harmony Day @ Lyndhurst Primary School and didn’t think it could be even better. I was wrong, the celebrations and sharing on Harmony Day at the assembly were just incredible. To see students so proud of their national dress and sharing about their cultures was heartwarming. Lyndhurst Primary School clearly just keeps doing everything they do better and better each year!

The student voice, agency and sharing of their family stories was just exceptional to watch. The performances were an absolute delight to watch and I could see everyone in the audience thoroughly enjoyed them.

Thanks to Emma Lebrasse for an amazing job leading the organization, thanks to all the staff who helped out in so many different ways and to our parents and carers for helping our students dress in their cultural dress and those who joined in our assembly to make the day amazing!

It was a pleasure walking around the school on the day to observe the obvious joy of students in classrooms learning about different cultures.

The collective mindsets and behaviours that have created such an inclusive school, where not only does everyone feel they belong but everyone feels that their differences are valued and celebrated, is something our whole school community should be so proud of!

I have no doubt our students will continue to be people who value inclusiveness and actively work to make sure everyone feels they belong in all different situations in their lives inside and outside of school. What incredible future citizens our school community is producing to make the world a better place for all!

Kind Regards,

Nicky Walker
